In 2019, the output value of Chongqing’s electronic information manufacturing industry increased by 11.1%, 4.3 percentage points higher than the city’s industrial growth rate, accounting for 27.2% of the city’s industrial output value, driving the city’s industrial growth by 2.9 percentage points, and contributing 42.7% to the city’s industrial growth .
In recent years, Chongqing has vigorously implemented an innovation-driven development strategic action plan led by big data intelligence, and built the world’s largest notebook computer production base and a 100-billion-level mobile phone industry cluster. The momentum of high-quality development of the electronic information manufacturing industry has become more obvious. At present, there are 639 electronic enterprises above designated size in the city. Among them, computer complete machine and supporting industries accounted for 51.7%; mobile phones and supporting industries accounted for 19%; electronic core components, home appliances, electromechanical, smart instruments and other electronic manufacturing industries accounted for a total of 29.3%.
In 2019, the city’s output of smart terminals was 360 million units (pieces), an increase of 5.9%. Among them, there were 76.14 million computers, an increase of 8.9% (including 64.22 million laptops, an increase of 12.1%). 174 million mobile phones (including 105 million brand mobile phones such as Vivo, OPPO, and Transsion, an increase of 19.1%). There were 12.87 million Apple watches, an increase of 153.4%; 7.478 million Apple tablets, an increase of 14.9%. 11.568 million monitors (Foxconn) and 13.658 million printers.
In addition, the output value of integrated circuits, new displays, household appliances, instruments and meters, and electromechanical products increased by 3.1%, 10.4%, 10.3%, 14.9%, and 16.6% respectively; intelligent terminal processing trade: the foundry enterprises in the two bonded areas and the HP domestic sales factory realized The output value was 244.09 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1%, accounting for 60.6% of the total output value of the smart terminal industry. Inventec, Foxconn, Compal, and Wistron have established R&D centers or R&D departments in Chongqing, and their innovation capabilities have steadily increased.
